English Lass is the second of eleven' Channel Class of which Verity A; the prototype was built on the Isle of Wight in the same year. It had been intended that this 10 tonner class would become known as the Channel class – and would all be of approximately the same dimensions, but not necessarily to an immutable lines plan. That is why the design data for each of the yachts listed are slightly different dimensionally. Here we see with English Lass deeper draft and marginally longer overall length, but strangely the TM (Thames Measurement) is officially recorded as less than the shorter Verity A with shallower draft.
From the South Coast of England she relocated to Sunderland in 1947 and after moving back to Hamble was in due course sold to owners in Norway.
