The Aquamarine Class is developed from the Laurent Giles successful Salar line of ocean cruising yachts.  The hull is of all welded steel with the ballast fitted internally and all tanks are designed in as double bottom tanks.

The design was originally conceived as a thoroughbred ocean cruising yacht; was produced before any thoughts of EC legislation for Recreational Craft, however these yachts were produced to Lloyds Class 100-A1 (the Lloyds steel construction scantlings), offshore stability range and usual Giles high specification of equipment, systems and detail in the design package, all of which are compliant with the latest requirements of the RCD.
