This design of this One Design Class was prepared for at the request of members of the British Boat Club. The drawings were all by the hand of Jack Giles and were all prepared in the space of one month.
In many ways the design owes much to the 1919 Alfred Westmancott X One Design which still dominate the waterfront at Lymington, Hamble and Poole; open carvel planked fractional rig day boats. Unlike the XODs Giles avoided the use of jumper struts to support the mast head and tension the fore stay.
