The design of Argo is not groundbreaking and predates any characteristics for which Giles was soon to become so famous, Her hull and keel profile for example is run of the mill and not very different from that which had been around for fifty years; canoe stern with quite deep veed sections, slow rising keel to the almost vertical stem, but she does represent a good baseline from which we can see the designer develop and continuously improve his technique and develop new technologies.
