Equiped with a folding propeller driven by 8. h.p. Stuart Turner inboard Droleen was the fourth of the Brittany class yachts of which a total of twenty were built.
She was built at Moody’s yard on the River Hamble at the same time as both Bettine the Vertue and Pocahontas.
The archive files state that the main drawings for Droleen were as Bettine the first Brittany class but we see that there are a whole set of revised drawings numbered with Droleen’s design number. These new drawings include the full hull lofting, the interior layout and many of the construction details. They were drawn between November 1947 & July 1948.
