Created for John Kerr teacher of wooden boatbuilding, the 4.6 m long Öland Skiff takes her name from Sweden’s second largest island which is situated off of the south east coast of Småland and connected to the mainland by the 6 km Öland bridge.

With an average build time of just fifty hours she was envisaged as an ideal first project and was conceived specifically for student boat builders. Construction is generally of 6 mm lap-strake plywood, with a lightweight laminated wood keel and stem. The dagger-board and rudder, frames (for which we provide full-size templates) and thwarts are also of plywood.

Construction drawings are also supplied for the solid round section mast and rectangular section yard.
