Fandango in the Solent 1949 season

Fandango was designed and built to win the 1949 Fastnet race.

With less than eight months before race day time was short and Jack Giles anticipated changes to the handicapping system following the runaway success of Myth of Malham the previous season.

Today Fandango is undergoing a total rebuild to return her to original condition. The work is being undertaken at the renowned International Boat building Training College at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard where she is on view to the public inside Boathouse 4 between H.M.S. Victory and H.M.S. Warrior.
